Hello Chicago Families!

Hello Chicago Families!
I hope you like what I've put together to help you sort through the many candidates that want to be a part of your family!
I also hope that is what you're looking for in someone to care for your children, another family member; because I am very personable, loving, and genuinely care for the well-being of those I interact with.
With something as imporant as being responsible for the health, safety, and happiness of your kids while you're away, I feel my qualifications are best exemplified through personal contact, but here are just a few of my qualifications:

I have been CPR/First Aid certified by the Red Cross for infants and children to age 12. I keep a journal for each family of the day's activities, as well as meals and anything else I find interesting about the day! I am active in my community and teach music to classes of more than 20 children once a week. I have over 4 years of professional care-giving experience working with new-borns - 12 years old. I have extensive experience with special needs such as the visually impaired as well as children with Attention Deficit Disorder. It is a wonderful opportunity to help them grow and overcome challenges that other kids their age do not always face. I feel I have grown as a person and would be happy to serve in a similar role again.

Before having a child of my own, I cared for Sierra for her first 18 months. I am proud of the relationship I fostered with her family because we understood one another's expectations as Sierra progressed in her development and I in my care for her. I was entrusted with their daughter and I was happy to take her to the parks and the many museums close by.

I have also spent two years caring for children of three families on separate days of the week. A typical day started around 7:30 and ended about 6:30, so I am used to caring for children through all times of the day. I even spend 1-2 nights a week with children of families that have been referred to me.

I love the zoo, playing at parks, and going for walks. I basically love any reason to get out of the house and explore! I've been in Chicago for five years now and am still fascinated by the city and everything it has to offer.

I haven't taken care of Joey and his older brother for almost two years now, but I am proud to say that our relationship remains close. Little Joey and the rest of his family met my husband and I at Millennium Park this past summer to do a little catching up!

Visiting parks is fun! Kids of course love it and it gives us a chance to get some exercise, fresh-air, and play with others!

I have also spent the past seven years involved in my church's nursery each Sunday. This has given me great experience with caring for multiple children at one time while working for and keeping their attention with songs, books, and games.

We love to go to story-time at the local bookstore...

Now this site is only meant as an introduction, please read "About Me" to get to know me a little better and feel free to contact me for an opportunity to meet you.
